Michael Spencer has a great post on iMonk about the current state of the Southern Baptist Convention. I was especially interested in his comments about younger pastors reacting against the nostalgia-based agenda of Convention leadership.

The post is a little off topic for this blog, but what do you think?

  1. I think using legalism to fight legalism creates wet cement. When the dust settles, everything is stuck in concrete, and everyone’s “good intentions” get buried in a system that keeps the whole deal from moving. Then you have a bunch of pissed off people who can’t get free and they take it out on each other, as well as the ones outside the cement who are truly trying to help.
