9)  When I met with the head elder to receive the “proposal” they put together, he told me that they were cutting my hours from 15-20 down to 9 hours a week (this after I told them I was hoping to work more hours for the church), restructuring the youth department, and they weren’t sure how much they were going to pay me.  I told him that whatever they had written in the proposal, he and I both knew that they put something together that they knew I wasn’t going to want.  He said they wanted me to make the decision.  I told him they already had, and it was about time that the elders fessed up to the fact that they decided it was time for me to move on.  He said, “Yes.” (You know you’re in trouble when the elders put together a plan for you that they know you aren’t going to want, and then tell you to make the decision to accept or reject it, even though they’ve already decided it’s time for you to move on.  That’s called a set-up.)
